Lace has been entering the world of fashion with a big bang. It is such a delicate and elegant material, and very versatile. Anyone can wear it in pretty much any way that they desire. At first lace was only used for table cloths and dollies in women’s and men’s clothing and mainly only people higher up on the social ladder obtained it. It did not become wide spread until the 16^th century, and missionaries even spread it to Native American tribes. It soon became used for wedding dresses and other more “formal” attire. However, shortly after the use for lace spread to many other forms as well.

Nowadays lace is used, still, for wedding dresses, 

but it has spread to being used for casual dresses as well!
